eCommerce Lite
offers a
full featured shopping cart with access to all the
important features that are required to start
selling goods and services on the internet.
The service is focused
on the needs of small businesses where the clear
priority is getting sales. That means making it as
easy as possible for the customer to buy even if
it means a bit of extra work for the merchant.
High volume retailers are different. They tend to
need more complex systems for handling orders once
they have been placed otherwise their labor costs
spiral. So while we don't have any formal
restrictions, we would think a merchant doing
consistently more than 500 orders a week will find
eCommerce Lite hard work. On the other hand
merchants doing less than that will appreciate the
customer centered focus. For larger merchants, we
have a much more powerful version: eCommerce Pro.
When one of your
customers clicks on one of these links they are
presented with a page showing their current cart
with that item added. They can choose to change
any of the quantities, delete items or move on to
the payments section. Credit card and check
details are collected using an SSL secured server.
Once a customer places
an order you are notified immediately by e-mail.
The e-mail will contain details of what they
ordered. To collect the payment details, you must
log in to eCommerce Lite and download them using
an SSL secure browser.

Add your own
message, including HTML, to the top of secure
pages. Use a different footer too. If your load
images remotely into these pages you just need to
make sure they are hosted on a secure server
somewhere.
